From annual festivals and parades to concerts, farmers markets, and community gatherings, our events bring neighbors and visitors together to celebrate what makes our Village special. Annual Events

Old Settlers

Date & Location: Last Full week of June, Metamora Square

Carnival style event that includes vendors, food tents & trucks, parade, 8 – mile & 3 – mile run, and live concerts & entertainment.

Meet Your Heroes

Date & Location: First Saturday in September, Metamora Square

Metamora Area Business Association event that includes first responders, inflatables, face painters, balloon artist, a DJ, pork chop cookout, and public health initiatives.

Trunk or Treat

Date & Location: Saturday before Halloween, Metamora Square

Metamora Area Business Association event that includes trick or treating, food trucks, inflatables, a DJ, and costume and trunk contests.

Hometown Christmas

Date & Location: First Thursday in December, Metamora Square

Late night local shopping, carriage rides, s’mores, Santa, carolers, and food trucks.

Shine a Light on Metamora Tree Lighting

Date & Location: First Saturday in December, Metamora Square

Local businesses and families sponsor a real tree on the Metamora Square. A tree lighting kicks off the season with carolers singing while all the trees are lit at once.

A Village Christmas

Date & Location: First Sunday in December, Metamora Square

Metamora Area Business Association event that includes a scavenger hunt, Santa, and festive activities from each participating business.

Downtown Special Event Application

If you would like to hold an event in Downtown Metamora and/or on the Village Square, you most gain prior approval to do so. Please download, complete and submit to the village, the Downtown Special Events Application Form no fewer than thirty (30) days prior to the event date.

Important requirements to submit with the application for final approval.

  • A Certificate of Liability Insurance naming the Village of Metamora as an additional insured. (See details on Page 4 of application form.)
  • Hand-drawn or digital sketched site layout map with identifying markers. (A downtown base map is provided, via download for applicant use at the link below.)
