Title 17 ZONING*
Chapter 17.16 PROVISIONS GOVERNING THE AGRICULTURAL (AG) DISTRICT
17.16.030 Special uses.
The following uses may be allowed by special use
permit:
A. Home occupations as allowed in Section
17.52.020;
B. Community buildings, utility and public service buildings
and lands, libraries, schools and museums, picnic grounds, religious,
educational or charitable institutions;
C. Uses of land including quarrying and mining of natural
resources, sanitary land fill and other types of land fill, refuse disposal and
dumps, provided that:
1. No open pit or shaft is less than one hundred feet from
any public road, nor less than five hundred feet from an existing residence or
residence district established by this title,
2. All buildings or structures for the screening, crushing,
washing, mixing or storage are located not less than one thousand feet from an
existing residence or any residence district established herein,
3. The borders of the entire property are fenced with a solid
fence or wall at least six feet in height, and
4. A plan of development for the reclamation of the land is
provided as part of the application for special use. The plan of development
shall be accompanied by a written agreement between the owner or his agent and
the village of Metamora and a performance bond in an amount equal to the cost of
the reclamation of the land as set forth in the development plan.
D. Cemeteries, crematories and mausoleums, if not located
within five hundred feet of any existing residence or residence district
established by this title;
E. Commercial radio and television towers;
F. Boarding or breeding kennels.
