Chapter 13.45 MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM SETBACK ZONES FOR PROTECTION OF WATER WELLS
13.45.020 Definitions.
Except as stated in this chapter, and unless a different
meaning of a word or term is clear from the context, the definition of words or
terms in this chapter shall be the same as those used in the Act and the
Illinois Groundwater Protection Act (415 ILCS 55/1, et seq.):
"Act" means the Environmental Protection Act 415 ILCS 5/1, et
seq.
"Agency" means the Illinois Environmental Protection
Agency.
"Board" means the Illinois Pollution Control Board.
"Minimum setback zone" means the area around a community
water supply well established under Section 14.2 of the Act and this chapter.
The area surrounding each village water well has been designated a 200 ft.
radius minimum setback zone.
"Maximum setback zone" means the area around a community
water supply well established under Section 14.3 of the Act and this chapter.
For each Village water well, the maximum setback zone is the area greater than
the 200 ft. minimum setback zone radius distance and less than or equal to 1000
ft. radius from each village water well.
"Village water well" means each and every community water
supply well used for the purpose of supplying water to the citizens of the
Village of Metamora including, in particular, Wells No. 6 and 7 located,
respectively, on Lot 10, except 50 feet of even width off the South side of said
Lot 10 and Lot 9E as shown and designated on the plat of the Revised
Robbin’s Wood Subdivision of Jacob A. Rinker, County Surveyor dated
October 2, 1954 and filed for record October 4, 1954 and recorded in Plat Book
"6", page 53 of the records in the Recorder’s Office of Woodford County,
Illinois, said Robbin’s Wood Subdivision being part of the Northwest
Quarter of Section 24, Township 27 North, Range 3 West of the Third Principal
Meridian, situated in the County of Woodford and State of Illinois.
