"Population equivalent" is a term used to evaluate the impact of industrial or other waste on a treatment works or stream. One population equivalent is one hundred gallons of sewage per day, containing 0.17 pounds of BOD and 0.20 pounds of suspended solids. (Ord. 1979-6 § 1 (1.07) (part), 1979)
