Whenever any street, alley or avenue is laid out, altered or widened, it shall be the duty of the board of trustees to cause a plat thereof to be made, showing the width, courses and extent thereof, and making such reference to known and established corners or monuments that the location thereof may be ascertained, and have the same recorded in the recorder’s office of the county, and when any street, alley or avenue is vacated, the ordinance vacating the same shall be in like manner recorded. The recording fees shall be paid by the village. (Prior code Ch. XXII § 2)
