Ex-officio members of the Council shall serve only for so long as they hold the position on the village board which entitles them to membership. Appointed members of the council shall serve for a term of four years. Vacancies occurring in appointed positions shall be filled for the unexpired term by appointment of the president of the village board as provided in Section 2.42.030. The village board by a majority vote shall have the authority to remove any appointed member of the council from office whenever in its discretion the best interests of the village will be served thereby.
